The Rove app

• Rove builds its index on your Mac and records only the names, sizes and dates of files and folders. It does not read file contents, and the index stays on your Mac.
• Search records and diagnostic logs stay on your Mac; they leave it only if you export and send them yourself.

License activation

NAS lists are made by Rove Agent on your NAS and sent to your Mac over your local network, encrypted; they never pass through our servers.

When the trial starts, the app sends a device identifier (a hash computed from the hardware ID and user name, from which the hardware ID cannot be recovered), the computer’s name and the start time to our license service, so that each Mac gets one trial. When you activate Rove, the app sends the license key, the device identifier and the computer’s name to limit the number of active devices; it checks again about every 30 days. We collect no other usage data.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Paddle.com under its privacy policy; we never see your full card or payment account details. We keep your e-mail address to send your license key and for support.
